Fun and fitness for all the family
This is a programme for overweight children and their families. We help children and families with food choices and eating, as well as physical fitness and activities.

If you want to help your child with their weight, the keys to success are:
Involving the whole family in the healthy eating and a physical activity programme

  • Involving the whole family in the healthy eating and a physical activity programme
  • Regular attendance at both the clinic and exercise programme. The programme is fun and enjoyable. Your child will¬†learn about healthy eating and take part¬† in physical¬† activity. They will¬†make friends, gain confidence and learn sports skills.

THE PROGRAMME

  • Pediatrician and Dietician assessment, eating patterns and knowledge of food, Physical activity and Fitness assessment, Medical complications of obesity.
  • Setting goals with children and families.
  • Kids in Action exercise programme.
  • Regular follow-up every 2-4 weeks.

 

EXERCISE PROGRAMME

After your first clinic appointment we like to see your child at the exercise programme at least once a week.

  • We encourage parents and other family members to come and exercise too.
  • If parents are overweight or have a health condition, we advise you to see your own doctor for a check-up too.
  • Our exercise programme is every Monday & Wednesday after school 4-6pm.

  • Nutrition and Behavior Survey‚ Action Plan

THE TEAM

The Kids in Action team is made up of Community Health Worker, a Pediatrician, and sports and fitness coaches.
