Community Health Worker
Caleb Va’a is a Youth Worker at South Seas, facilitating the Lifelaunch and Resilient Young People programmes. He works with young people aged 5-25 dealing with weight management, suicide prevention, mental-health, anti-bullying and sexual education. He was previously a Whanau Ora Navigator at another South Auckland provider, working alongside families to empower themselves to take ownership of their needs through education, economics, health and community participation. Caleb is of Samoan descent and holds a Level 4 Certificate in Social Services. He is also a Youth Mentor for Otara Youth and Communication Trust, an Otara Scorpions Premier Player and Volunteer, a Cultural Tutor at St. Kentigern College and University of Auckland Samoan Students Association.
