A graduate from the University of Auckland with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Criminology, Samuelu is passionate about the Pacific community. He is of Samoan and Fijian descent and speaks fluent Samoan and English. He is a Community Support Worker for the Social Services team at SouthSeas and works with Pacific families, assisting them to achieve their financial, educational, cultural and health goals. His role consists of providing advocacy and social support for the families. He is also involved in the AWHI (Auckland Wide Healthy Homes Initiative), helping to get families in the Counties Manukau area into warmer, healthier and cleaner homes.
