The South Seas Healthcare Well Child Team shares messages of love and support to all Pacific families in New Zealand as they head into the start of School Term 2 this week via remote learning with the lockdown still in place.

With children learning from home, English-language content is now airing on TVNZ channel 2+1, TVNZ on Demand, and Sky Channel 502, with Māori TV is broadcasting content in te reo Māori. The channels run from 9am to 3pm on school days.

Public health advice is yet to be received to determine when children can return to school.

The South Seas Well Child Team is using social media to share their messages of love and support, to help and encourage Pacific families to stay connected.

Fonofili Sa’e-Parkinson, South Seas Team Leader Well Child Nursing, says the team misses visiting Pacific families as part of the Well Child programme. “We encourage our Pacific families in South Auckland to contact the team if you need any help. South Seas services are still open and we’re able to care for you. Take care and stay safe.”

The South Seas Well Child service is a free health service available to all children living in NZ from birth to 4 years old.

You can access the Well Child Service by contacting South Seas on 09 273 9017 and ask to speak to a Well Child nurse.
