South Seas Healthcare Trust Welcome Pasifika Interns

South Seas Healthcare have welcomed five interns from the University of Otago POPO Internship Programme. Coordinated through the  Pacific Islands Research and Student Support Unit at Otago University in partnership with MIT, South Seas are avid supporters of the annual internship programme. The interns come from a range of health-related backgrounds including Medicine, Health Science, Dentistry, and Nursing.

Across the ten weeks, the Pasifika interns will connect in with various Team Leaders and Senior Management personnel via zoom or in-person, to learn more about the various workstreams across the organisation. A core part of their learnings will be the completion of their self-discovery projects that combine their areas of health interest and South Seas services.

During the first two weeks of the programme, the interns have been able to observe the drive through Vaccination event, a joint ministerial press announcement, and a Youth focused engagement workshop led by Office of the Children's Commissioner in partnership with Bubblegum.

We wish them luck, and are looking forward to this journey together.
